| - Five pseudo-nuraghi.
These, too, have been identified as megalithic constructions,
probably built by the same “Tower-dwellers”, but in
a period following tot hose of the proto-nuraghi. They are composed
of great blocks of rock with a circular, tower-shaped base, whose
vault closes with a pseudo-cupola,
without niches. The entrance to the chamber is in triangular and
architrave form, with a small window for waste, while the entrance
corridors to the chamber were covered in the “platband”
technique. The structure is composed of huge quadriangular or
polyhedric ashlers, arranged and tightly-packed in regular rows,
with a diametre of 8-10m, set up on the top of a hill;
- One nuragic complex. This
is the most important in Castiadas, called “Nuraghe s’Omu
and s”Orcu”, and is found near Santa Giusta. The nuragic
fortress is made up of the bilobal donjon, typified by a side
tower and second tower located in the central part of the complex.
The towers are in circular form, with a diametre of around 7.5m
and made up of quadrangular and polyhedric ashlars of medium and
large size, arranged and tightly-packed in regular rows. All of
this is surrounded by an ante-mural screen and by brickwork ,
including a further 5 small towers. The ante-mural screen is arranged
in regular rows, with a height of around 4 m and length 10m, with
a final grafting onto the north-facing tower of the side-tower.
Finally, the brick screen is formed of a single row 15m long of
sizeable ashlars, which merge with the rocks and join up between
the two side towers, closing the south-east side of the nuragic
complex.
The structure currently lies abandoned, but a restoration of the
complex is planned.
