| The Port
 The
’’Villasimius Marina’’ with its 750 berths,
providing tourists with all port services, lies beneath the headland
on which the Fortezza Vecchia (“old fortress”) stands,
an A ragonese
construction from 1590, currently used for cultural exhibitions.
It is around three kilometres from the village centre, which can
also be reached by shuttle bus, taxi or on foot.
This high-class harbour, equipped to host vessels of up to 25
metres by 7, supplies light, water and fuel along the whole quay.
Close by there is a shopping centre, with supermarket, shops,
post office and bank, as well as
restaurants and pizzerias. At the entrance to the port one finds
the shipyard for the repair and maintenance of vessels, while
the harbour master’s office is at the centre of the wharf.
Other buildings host the yacht club, sailing centre, Nautical
League and several diving centres with qualified instructors.
 For
lovers of excursions, water-sports and underwater activities,
there is the possibility to hire vessels and participate on excursions,
inland, along the coast or to the islands, where, after taking
a cooling dip, one can enjoy a feisty fish lunch back on board.
